Changed MY Life ;)

Reading "Eat, Pray, Love" changed my life. I was struggling with hurting an ex. Eventhough I had closed that relationship years earlier, I have always struggled with not being able to force myself to make it work. When Liz stands on the moutain and speaks to her ex and asks for forgiveness and closure, I felt like that was ME asking for forgiveness and closure. I have never been the "hurter"... I have always been "hurt"... so I DEEPLY struggled with hurting someone.

Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend reading this book if you struggle with closure on a relationship. It is also helping me with closure on a current relationship. I re-read the quote below over and over because I once believed we were only meant to have one soul mate. NOW I know we can have several. People come into your life for many reasons and leave for reasons we may never understand.

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master..."
